CVE-2023-4601Network attack vector

Information disclosure or code execution via stack overflow

Published Oct 18, 2023 · Updated Sep 13, 2024

A stack-based buffer overflow in National Instruments System Configuration 2023 Q3 and earlier allows remote attackers to disclose information or execute code. The flaw occurs when NI System Configuration processes a specially crafted response; the advisory does not identify the vulnerable function or parser operation. Exploitation requires delivering that response to a Windows installation, and successful attacks can expose memory or achieve arbitrary code execution.
