CVE-2023-45924

Client crash via unchecked GLX attribute count

Published Mar 27, 2024 · Updated Nov 4, 2025

Buffer over-read in NVIDIA libglvnd bb06db5a allows attackers controlling the X server to crash GLX client applications. __glXGetDrawableScreen trusts the reply's numAttribs value and uses it to index the returned attribute buffer without verifying that the reply contains that many pairs. Exploitation requires an attacker-controlled X server; the project disputes security relevance because only the connected client process loses availability.
