Unauthenticated account impersonation via insecure login function
Published Oct 18, 2023 · Updated Jan 9, 2025
Authentication bypass in WIPOTEC ComScale 4.3.29.21344 and 4.4.12.723 allows remote attackers to log in as any user without a password. A remotely reachable HTTP POST invokes an insecure authentication function, but the published proof redacts the affected endpoint and request body. No account or user interaction is required; successful exploitation grants the selected user's access to centrally stored production data and control functions.
