Unauthorized variable creation via unverified admin request
Published Oct 17, 2023 · Updated Sep 13, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in Dreamer CMS 4.1.3 allows remote attackers to create CMS variables through an administrator's browser. The /admin/variable/add handler accepts a state-changing variable-addition request without verifying that the authenticated user intentionally submitted it. Exploitation requires an authenticated administrator to load attacker-controlled content; the bounded result is an unauthorized variable addition under that session.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
