Unauthenticated code execution via crafted GPCM message
Published Dec 19, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Remote code execution in DS Wireless Communication versions 3 and 11 allows remote attackers to run arbitrary code via a modified GPCM message. The public exploit replaces a GPCM3vMAT or GPCM11vMAT payload with an invalid match command, version-specific padding, and an attacker-controlled saved link-register value. Exploitation requires a game-playing client built with DWC_VERSION_3 or DWC_VERSION_11 to process the crafted message, after which code runs in the game process.
