CVE-2023-45873Network attack vector

Authenticated Data Service crash via oversized GetKeys request

Published Feb 28, 2024 · Updated Nov 5, 2024

Resource exhaustion in Couchbase Server 6.5.x through 7.2.3 allows remote authenticated users to crash the Data Service via GetKeys. The Data Service accepts a GetKeys request for an excessively large document count without bounding memory consumption, causing the OOM killer to terminate the service. A Data Reader role and network access to the request interface are required; exploitation interrupts database availability without reported data disclosure or modification.
