CVE-2023-45852Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated command execution via unsanitized ipaddr

Published Oct 14, 2023 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Command injection in Viessmann Vitogate 300 2.1.3.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands via HTTP. /cgi-bin/vitogate.cgi concatenates the ipaddr JSON value into a shell command without filtering and passes it to popen(). An empty session value passes the existence-only session check, so no credentials or user interaction are required to take control of the device.
