Plugin crash via unchecked checklist title length
Published Dec 12, 2023 · Updated Dec 2, 2024
Uncontrolled resource consumption in Mattermost Playbooks allows remote authenticated users to crash the plugin via a crafted request. The run-checklist title update path accepts an attacker-supplied title without checking its length, causing resource exhaustion during request processing. A low-privileged account that can update a playbook run checklist can interrupt Playbooks availability, while confidentiality and integrity remain unaffected.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=0 <=8.1.5
