CVE-2023-4580Network attack vector

Sensitive-data disclosure via unencrypted push storage

Published Sep 11, 2023 · Updated Dec 18, 2025

Information disclosure in Firefox before 117, Firefox ESR before 115.2, and Thunderbird before 115.2 allows attackers to read private push data. The DOM Push Subscriptions notification store writes private-browsing push content to disk as raw data instead of encrypting it. A user must permit notifications in a private session, after which access to the profile cache exposes notification content but does not alter it.
