Password-hash disclosure via world-readable databases and logs
Published Oct 16, 2023 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Incorrect default permissions in Titan MFT Server and Titan SFTP Server 2.0.17.2298 and earlier allow local users to read password hashes. On Linux, srxserver database files expose PasswordHash values, while system journal entries record stored hashes without restricting non-root access. A non-root account with shell access is sufficient; exposed hashes can support privilege escalation to root, but no direct data modification is reported.
