Arbitrary file read via unchecked admin paths
Published Oct 16, 2023 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Path traversal in South River Technologies Titan MFT and Titan SFTP 2.0.17.2298 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary files. The MxUtilFileAction model in the administrative WebApi Process endpoint accepts ../ sequences in requested file paths and returns files outside the intended log directory. A valid administrator session is required; successful requests disclose any file readable by the service account on Windows or Linux.
