Authenticated code execution via WebDAV path traversal
Published Oct 16, 2023 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Path traversal in Titan MFT Server 2.0.17.2298 and earlier on Linux allows remote authenticated users to write arbitrary files via WebDAV. The WebDAV handler accepts dot-dot segments in a PUT URL without confining the resolved path to the account home directory, so it writes attacker-controlled content anywhere its process can access. WebDAV must be enabled and the account must permit uploads; Rapid7 reports Titan SFTP Server is unaffected because it does not support WebDAV.
