Database disclosure via time-based SQL injection
Published Nov 14, 2023 · Updated Sep 3, 2024
SQL injection in Northern.tech CFEngine Enterprise allows remote attackers to extract Mission Portal database contents through its login page. The login handler passes inadequately sanitized input into PostgreSQL queries, allowing injected Boolean conditions paired with PG_SLEEP calls to expose values through response delays. No authentication or user interaction is required, but extraction proceeds one character at a time and exposes access tokens and salted password hashes.
