CVE-2023-45672Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Remote code execution via unsafe YAML deserialization

Published Oct 30, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Unsafe deserialization in Frigate before 0.13.0 Beta 3 allows remote attackers to execute code through a crafted configuration request. The /api/config/save handler passes request data to load_config_with_no_duplicates, whose YAML Loader permits custom constructors. Exploitation requires an internet-exposed instance, knowledge of its address, and an authenticated user who clicks a crafted link; executed code can write mounted filesystems.
