CVE-2023-45659Public exploit

Account access persistence via undeleted sessions

Published Oct 16, 2023 · Updated Sep 13, 2024

Insufficient session expiration in Engelsystem before dbb089315ff3d allows attackers to retain access via an existing browser session. The PasswordResetController::postResetPassword method changes the password and deletes the reset token but leaves the user's stored sessions intact. A session obtained through compromised credentials retains the affected account's permissions after its password changes.
