CVE-2023-4564Network attack vector

Stored XSS via unsanitized broadcast message

Published Oct 3, 2023 · Updated Oct 1, 2024

Stored XSS in Capensis Canopsis 23.04-alpha3 allows remote authenticated users to run JavaScript through an admin broadcast. The broadcast-message renderer stores attacker-controlled HTML and later inserts it into the WebUI without neutralizing script-capable markup. An administrator must save the payload; it executes when another user views the broadcast and can act in that user's Canopsis session.
