Contributor-level browser script execution via unsanitized shortcode
Published Oct 18, 2023 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in QROkes QR Twitter Widget 0.2.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to run scripts via a shortcode. The plugin's shortcode accepts contributor-controlled content without sufficient input sanitization or output escaping, storing script markup in a post. Contributor-level access is required, and the script executes in a visitor's browser when the injected page is viewed.
