Administrator-level stored XSS via unsafe widget markup
Published Oct 18, 2023 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Stored XSS in Scott Reilly Get Custom Field Values 4.0.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through a plugin widget. The widget accepts configurable markup without sufficient input sanitization or output escaping, so stored script content is emitted into a page and executes in a visitor's browser. Administrator-level access is required, and the vulnerable path applies only to multisite installations or sites where unfiltered_html is disabled.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
