CVE-2023-45592

Browser exploit amplification via unsandboxed root execution

Published Mar 5, 2024 · Updated Aug 12, 2024

Execution with unnecessary privileges in AiLux imx6 bundle before 1.0.7-2 allows physically proximate attackers to amplify browser exploits. The embedded Chromium binary launches as root with --no-sandbox, removing Chromium process isolation and granting browser code superuser privileges. Exploitation requires a separate successful browser attack and physical proximity; the resulting data access, modification, or service interruption depends on that flaw.
