CVE-2023-4552Network attack vector

Authenticated system-file access via manipulated JDBC URLs

Published Jan 29, 2024 · Updated Jun 17, 2025

Improper input validation in OpenText AppBuilder before 23.2 allows remote authenticated users to read server-local files. Database creation and management accepts an attacker-controlled JDBC URL without restricting file-access behavior, causing the AppBuilder server to open local paths. Exploitation requires an AppBuilder account permitted to create or manage databases; affected releases start at 21.2, and impact is limited to access or modification of local files.
