Remote code execution via unchecked sscanf parsing
Published Nov 29, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stack overflow in Tenda AC10 firmware US_AC10V4.0si_V16.03.10.13_cn allows remote attackers to crash the service or execute code. The compare_parentcontrol_time function passes the user-controlled time parameter to sscanf without a length check, overflowing stack buffers v3 and v4. No credentials or user interaction are required; a crafted HTTP POST to /goform/saveParentControlInfo demonstrably crashes the management service.
