Stored script execution via unsanitized index names
Published Oct 20, 2023 · Updated Sep 12, 2024
Stored XSS in QAD Search Server 1.0.0.315 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute script through a crafted index name. Insufficient index-name checks let the server store attacker-supplied web script and render it without neutralization on the search page. Unauthenticated index creation is sufficient, but execution requires a user to access the affected search page, exposing that user's browser session to script actions.
