CVE-2023-45282Public exploit

Client denial of service via unsanitized JSON import

Published Oct 6, 2023 · Updated Sep 19, 2024

Prototype pollution in NASA Open MCT before 3.1.0 allows attackers to crash the browser client through a crafted JSON import. ImportFromJSONAction._deepInstantiate recursively reconstructs objects without filtering an explicit proto property, replacing the MutableDomainObject prototype. The malicious file must be imported into the client; the resulting exception interrupts the browser application, and Plan plugin data can preserve the denial of service after refresh.
