CVE-2023-4528Network attack vector

Remote code execution via XML object deserialization

Published Sep 7, 2023 · Updated Apr 23, 2025

Unsafe deserialization in JSCAPE MFT Server before 2023.1.9 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary Java code over the network. The Manager Service deserializes an attacker-supplied XML-encoded Java object before confirming that it is an expected protocol Message. Network access to the enabled service, normally SSL port 10880, is sufficient; executed commands run as root on Linux or SYSTEM on Windows.
