Cross-user JavaScript execution via unfiltered display scripts
Published Oct 19, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stored XSS in Yamcs 5.8.6 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in another user's browser via a crafted display. A bucket accepts an OPI display that references an uploaded JavaScript file, and the Telemetry display renderer executes the script without filtering or confinement. A user must open the attacker-supplied display; execution occurs in the Yamcs web context and can expose or alter browser-accessible session data.
