CVE-2023-45225Network attack vector

Remote code execution via undersized XML buffers

Published Nov 8, 2023 · Updated Jan 16, 2025

Stack-based overflows in Zavio IP camera firmware M2.1.6.05 allow remote attackers to execute code via crafted XML network requests. The network-request XML parser copies certain element data into stack buffers without sufficiently validating the allocated buffer size. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful memory corruption grants code execution on the camera.
