Authenticated full-name disclosure via unchecked Boards endpoints
Published Nov 27, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Information disclosure in Mattermost 7.8.12 and earlier and 8.0.0 through 8.1.3 allows remote authenticated users to read full names. Mattermost Boards endpoints return each target user's full-name field without enforcing the disabled Show Full Name setting; Mattermost has not named the affected endpoints or functions. Any workspace member can obtain the hidden profile value, but the published impact is limited to confidentiality and excludes data modification or service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=0 <=7.8.12
