Improper input validation in IBM AIX 7.2, 7.3, and VIOS 3.1 allows local users to interrupt the system through the pmsvcs kernel extension. IBM has not published which pmsvcs input or validation operation triggers the failure. Non-privileged local access is sufficient, and the documented consequence is limited to denial of service rather than data disclosure or modification.
