CVE-2023-45160

Privilege escalation via runtime resource replacement

Published Oct 5, 2023 · Updated Jun 18, 2025

Privilege escalation in 1E Client allows local users to execute harmful scripts by replacing downloaded instruction resource files. The client creates instruction resources at runtime in a temporary directory whose access controls permit an ordinary user to substitute a malicious script. Local access as an ordinary user is required, and successful replacement executes the substituted script with the client's elevated privileges.
