Conversation-password disclosure via uncounted validation attempts
Published Oct 16, 2023 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Improper brute-force protection in affected Nextcloud Talk releases allows remote authenticated users to discover public-conversation passwords. The page index controller exposes a password-validation path that checks a public conversation password without registering failed attempts with the brute-force limiter. A low-privilege account and a password-protected public conversation are required; repeated guesses can expose that conversation's protected contents.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
