Authenticated JIT MFA bypass via SCP and SFTP
Published Nov 8, 2023 · Updated Sep 12, 2024
Authentication bypass in OVHcloud The Bastion 3.0.0 through 3.14.0 allows remote authenticated users to skip JIT MFA for SCP or SFTP. The SCP and SFTP plugin paths start permitted file-transfer sessions without invoking the group- or account-based JIT MFA enforcement applied to normal SSH access. An existing bastion account must have the relevant group or personal access and SCP or SFTP permission; the bypass permits authorized transfers without the required additional factor.
