Stored XSS via unescaped existing-document reference
Published Oct 25, 2023 · Updated Sep 10, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in XWiki Platform's create form allows remote authenticated users with edit rights to run script in another user's browser. The createinline.vm template inserts an attacker-chosen existingDocumentReference into a localized error message without XML escaping. An attacker must first create a nonempty document with a crafted name and induce a victim to reopen its creation form; the script then acts with the victim's rights.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
