Reflected XSS via unescaped template-provider errors
Published Oct 25, 2023 · Updated Sep 10, 2024
Reflected XSS in XWiki Platform allows remote attackers to execute actions as a user who opens a crafted page-creation link. The createinline.vm template renders template-provider restriction errors with attacker-controlled document-name data without XML escaping. Exposure requires the disabled-by-default name-validation setting; the user's rights bound the result, from wiki reads and writes to code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
