Unauthenticated WAF bypass via trusted forwarded IP
Published Oct 11, 2023 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
Protection mechanism failure in wargio Naxsi 1.3 through 1.5 allows remote attackers to bypass WAF filtering via a crafted HTTP header. ngx_http_naxsi_update_current_ctx_status trusts the first X-Forwarded-For value and applies IgnoreIP or IgnoreCIDR before checking the socket peer address. Exploitation requires either ignore rule to be configured and lets matching malicious requests reach the protected application without Naxsi inspection.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
