Stored script execution via unsanitized settings
Published Oct 18, 2023 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Stored XSS in WPJohnny Comment Reply Email 1.0.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts into WordPress pages. Plugin settings accept administrator-supplied content without sufficient input sanitization or output escaping, causing stored web scripts to execute when an affected page is viewed. Administrator-level access is required, and exposure is limited to multisite installations or sites where unfiltered_html is disabled; a later page view triggers the payload.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
