State change via missing nonce validation
Published Oct 10, 2023 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Cross-Site Request Forgery in Bainternet ShortCodes UI 1.9.8 and earlier allows attackers to alter plugin settings via forged web requests. A plugin function accepts state-changing requests without verifying a WordPress nonce, so a crafted page can cause a logged-in administrator browser to submit the action. Exploitation requires an administrator to visit attacker-controlled content; the documented impact is unauthorized integrity changes, with no demonstrated confidentiality or service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
