Stored script execution via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Oct 16, 2023 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Stored XSS in Robin Wilson bbp style pack 5.6.7 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts via a shortcode. The display-top-users shortcode accepts user-supplied attributes without sufficient input sanitization or output escaping, so injected script persists in page content. Contributor-level access is sufficient, and the script runs in another user's browser when the injected page is viewed, exposing data and actions available to that session.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
