Unauthenticated service halt via malformed Authorization header

Published Oct 6, 2023 · Updated Sep 19, 2024

Incorrect authorization in Netis Systems N3 firmware 1.0.1.865 allows remote attackers to halt its web server via a malformed HTTP header. The Boa web server processes an incomplete Digest Authorization header containing only a username and stops functioning instead of rejecting it. No authentication or user interaction is required; the demonstrated consequence is loss of the management service, while broader router availability is not publicly established.
