Authenticated file deletion via path traversal
Published Oct 10, 2023 · Updated Sep 19, 2024
Path traversal in SeaCMS 12.8 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to delete server files through admin_template.php. The action=del handler accepts dot-segment traversal in filedir, escapes the template directory, and unlinks the selected path. Administrator-panel access is required; the published proof demonstrates file deletion, not the arbitrary code execution claimed by the CVE description.
