CVE-2023-44839Network attack vector

Unauthenticated router crash via unchecked Encryption copy

Published Oct 5, 2023 · Updated Sep 19, 2024

Buffer overflow in D-Link DIR-823G A1V1.0.2B05 allows remote attackers to crash the router via a crafted Encryption parameter. SetWLanRadioSecurity copies the attacker-controlled Encryption value into a fixed-size buffer without verifying that the input fits. The management service is reachable without authentication, and successful exploitation interrupts routing availability rather than exposing or modifying data.
