Unauthenticated router crash via unchecked GuardInt
Published Oct 5, 2023 · Updated Sep 19, 2024
Buffer overflow in D-Link DIR-823G firmware 1.0.2B05 allows remote attackers to crash the router via a crafted GuardInt value. The SetWLanRadioSettings handler processes the untrusted GuardInt parameter without adequate bounds checking, overrunning a memory buffer. No authentication or user interaction is required, and the documented consequence is an availability-only service interruption rather than data disclosure or modification.
