CVE-2023-4472Network attack vector

Unauthenticated account takeover via predictable reset tokens

Published Feb 1, 2024 · Updated Jun 11, 2025

Weak password-reset token generation in ObjectPlanet Opinio 7.22 and earlier allows remote attackers to take over user accounts. The password-retrieval flow seeds a weak PRNG predictably when generating reset tokens, allowing the seed and resulting token to be brute-forced. The target account must have an email address configured; a guessed token lets the attacker set an arbitrary password and assume that user’s access.
