CVE-2023-4467Public exploit

Root shell access via predictable test-mode response

Published Dec 29, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Hidden functionality in Poly Trio 8800 7.2.6.0019 allows physically proximate attackers to obtain unauthenticated root shell access. Test Automation mode accepts a challenge response derived solely from the device MAC address and a hardcoded key, then starts unauthenticated ADB and Telnet daemons after reboot. Physical access and the administrator password, or existing shell access, are required to enable the mode; activation permits arbitrary code execution as root.
