Administrator account takeover via unauthenticated password reset
Published Aug 21, 2023 · Updated Oct 4, 2024
Authentication bypass in OpenRapid RapidCMS 1.3.1 allows remote attackers to reset the administrator password through a web request. The admin/run-movepass.php handler accepts password and password2 values and updates the administrator credential without an authentication check. Network access to the handler is sufficient, and the changed credential grants control of the administrative account.
