Code execution via unchecked PSD data length
Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Nov 4, 2025
Heap-based buffer overflow in GIMP 2.10.34 allows attackers to execute code by convincing a user to open a crafted PSD file. The PSD file parser copies attacker-controlled data into a heap buffer without first validating its declared length. Opening the file is required, and successful exploitation runs code with the privileges of the GIMP process.
