Root code execution via unvalidated EmailFrom value
Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
OS command injection in D-Link DIR-X3260 firmware 1.02B02 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute code as root via HNAP. The SetSysEmailSettings handler in prog.cgi passes an unvalidated EmailFrom string from an HNAP request to a system call. The lighttpd interface is reachable on LAN-side TCP ports 80 and 443; authentication is required, but a separate flaw can bypass it.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
