Authenticated privilege escalation via unchecked showUsers access
Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Sep 20, 2024
Improper authorization in D-Link D-View 8 1.0.2.13 allows remote authenticated users to escalate privileges through showUsers. The showUsers method exposes a privileged endpoint after authentication without checking whether the caller is authorized for that resource. A low-privileged account and network access to the web interface are required, after which normally protected resources become accessible.
