CVE-2023-44392

Code execution via unsafe cached-result deserialization

Published Oct 9, 2023 · Updated Sep 18, 2024

Code injection in Garden before 0.12.65 and 0.13.0 through 0.13.16 allows attackers to execute code through cached Kubernetes results. Garden decodes base64 result data and passes it to Cryo.parse, which reconstructs executable content from test-result and run-result ConfigMaps. Exploitation requires Kubernetes-cluster access and a user to invoke garden test or garden run for an existing cached result.
