Code execution via embedded-font out-of-bounds read
Published Nov 16, 2023 · Updated Dec 16, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in Adobe Acrobat Reader 23.006.20360 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted PDF. Its embedded-font parser fails to validate user-supplied font data before reading beyond an allocated buffer. Classic 2020 20.005.30524 and earlier is also affected on Windows and macOS; a victim must open the file or visit a malicious page, after which code runs in the current process.
