Administrative code execution via malformed X.509 upload
Published Nov 14, 2023 · Updated Jan 14, 2025
Improper certificate validation in Siemens network devices allows remote authenticated users with administrative access to execute arbitrary code. The certificate-upload path accepts extraneous untrusted content embedded in an X.509 certificate as trusted data before device-side processing. Administrative privileges and network access to the management interface are required; successful exploitation grants full code execution on the appliance.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
